PORTSMOUTH, NH - Demonstrated Success and the students of Portsmouth High School partnered to create a logo for Demonstrated Success’ newest educational product, the Educator Success Platform (ESP). Guided by Terra Merry, Computer Graphics teacher, students embarked in a lesson of logo design and marketing and created a variety of logos for Demonstrated Success to consider. By reaching out to the graphic design students of Portsmouth High, Demonstrated Success stands by a company belief of giving students real-world learning experiences. After being presented with a multitude of creative logos, Demonstrated Success congratulates freshman Calvin Puglisi, whose logo is now representing their new cloud-based content management system.
The students of Terra Merry’s Computer Graphics course, offered to grades 9-12, learn the elements of graphic design using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to create a digital portfolio and promote an online emphasis on the importance of creativity. The course teaches students how to design, manipulate, and edit original pieces, placing an importance on the value of communication.
The Demonstrated Success team spent some time in the classroom in October of 2018 to teach the students about the elements of logo design and branding, giving them insight to what a career in graphic design looks like in a company’s marketing department. Through introducing its mission, marketing materials and goals for the ESP launch, Demonstrated Success and the Portsmouth High students worked together in developing a creative space for many different logo designs, expanding the students’ real-world experience.
“Doing real projects for clients like Demonstrated Success is vitally important for the students. It increases their engagement and results in professional quality work,” says Computer Graphics teacher, Terra Merry. “It really brings out their best!”
This is not the first time Demonstrated Success has worked with Portsmouth High School in promoting their students’ graphic design experience. In Spring of 2016, Demonstrated Success worked in the classroom with students to develop their company logo. Being a company whose goal is to improve the quality of learning and teaching for students and educators, Demonstrated Success believes in the importance of collaboration and the creativity of students.
In the end, after having to decide between a vast variety of logos, Demonstrated Success rewarded Freshman Calvin Puglisi as the winning logo creator as of January 2019. The Demonstrated Success team thanks Calvin for his hard work, and is happy to use his creativity to represent its new software product.
